Acs Organic Chemistry Exam 2020

Acs Organic Chemistry Exam 2020The Acs Organic Chemistry Exam 2020 was created to assist students who are studying chemistry in their primary years. It can be a tricky course to study, as most textbooks cannot even start off with the most elementary chapters. These days, students need to study from scratch and this can be very hard for them. To make things easier for them, this exam has been developed to help students with the topics of organic chemistry. The Organic Chemistry Exam 2020 is divided into two parts. One part is relatively easy and is taught by real life scientists. The other part is more difficult and tests the student's understanding of the concepts discussed in the first part. For this exam, the student should have a good understanding of the material covered in the material he or she studied in the rest of the class. He or she should also have a grasp of the processes involved in the course. Without a solid understanding of chemistry, one cannot pass the exam. While pre paring for the test, a student should study for the real test. This means that the student should not only study the topics that will be covered in the exam, but should also practice on the material and answer the questions. A good preparation will enable him or her to ace the test and score high in the exam. The Acs Organic Chemistry Exam 2020 also provides extra help to the students. A Day in the Life at The Ohio State University

A Day in the Life at The Ohio State University The tutors behind Varsity Tutors are not just here to teach theyre sharing their college experiences as well. Danielle is a Denver tutor specializing in Algebra tutoring, ACT prep tutoring, all levels of German tutoring, and more. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2011 with a Bachelors degree in Philosophy. See what she had to say about her alma mater: VT: Describe the campus setting and transportation options. How urban or safe is the campus? Are there buses or do you need a car/bike? Danielle:I went to The Ohio State University and I was a commuter. I drove every day, but that meant leaving my car on a lot a few miles from campus. I used the campus buses a lot they are pretty available. The campus is not car-friendly at all (meters are more expensive than downtown NYC or Chicago), but it is pretty walkable and bike-friendly. VT: How available are the professors, academic advisers, and teaching assistants? Danielle:Most professors, academic advisors, and TAs really do their best to help if you make it clear that youre looking for it. I heard many TAs and professors remark that they make office hours and end up just sitting there because no one shows up. If office hours didnt work with my schedule, professors/TAs often worked with me to find a time that would work. Additionally, getting to know a professor in office hours is a great way to find out about other opportunities, or start a relationship that can eventually result in a great letter of recommendation. Academic advisors are a little busier, so if you know youre going to need to talk to them, make sure youre setting up an appointment as soon as possible. Also, not all academic advisors are equal I had one who told me I wasnt allowed to sign up for a course because it was an honors course, as she didnt realize I was in honors so, try to get appointments with other advisors if you dont have the best experience at first. VT: How would you describe the dorm life rooms, dining options, location, socialization opportunities with other students? Danielle:I didnt live in the dorms, so I cant answer that. I will say campus dining at Ohio State was low quality and over-priced, so spend as little as possible on your dining plan and eat at the restaurants around town. VT: Which majors/programs are best represented and supported? What did you study and why? Did the university do a good job supporting your particular area of study? Danielle:STEM subjects are by far the best supported majors at Ohio State. They also have renowned schools of Nursing, Dentistry, and Business, as well as a great Political Science department. I majored in Philosophy; it was not well-supported. VT: How easy or difficult was it for you to meet people and make friends as a freshman? Does Greek life play a significant role in the campus social life? Danielle:Because I commuted, I knew Id have to rely on making friends in classes instead of in dorm life. I made a goal to make a new friend in every course I took, and even though Im pretty shy, I managed to meet that goal for every course in my freshman year (and many after). I also had a lot of friends from high school at Ohio State, which helped make sure I had something to do on the weekends. Between those two things, I had a lot of friends whom I had a lot of fun with and was really grateful for! Greek life is significant at OSU, but the school is big enough that you can easily never engage with it. VT: How helpful is the Career Centerand other student support services?Do many reputable companies recruit on campus? Danielle:I did not use the Career Center, so I dont know. I know from friends that the MBA program at Ohio State has great student services and very reputable companies. VT: How are the various study areas such aslibraries, the student union, and dorm lounges? Are they over-crowded, easily available, spacious? Danielle:The libraries at Ohio State are very popular, but also very large. I never struggled to find a place to study (though sometimes I struggled to find a free computer in a computer lab). VT: Describe the surrounding town. What kinds of outside establishments / things to do are there that make it fun, boring, or somewhere in between? To what extent do students go to the downtown area of the city versus staying near campus? Danielle:There is a lot going on in Columbus. A few miles down high street from campus is the Short North, which has a lot of events like the monthly Gallery Hop and lots of hip bars and restaurants. Just beyond it is the Arena District (basically downtown) which has quite a few bars and is a very popular destination for Ohio State students. VT: How big or small is the student body? Were you generally pleased or displeased with the typical class sizes? Danielle:Ohio State is huge something like 60,000-70,000 students. I had some classes with a few hundred students, and it was really challenging to be engaged and learn in that setting. Luckily, because I was in the honors program, I took many higher-level courses that had between 15 and 25 students, and that was much more engaging. VT: Describe one memorable experience with a professor and/or class. Perhaps one you loved the most or one youregretthe most. Danielle: I tried to make a habit of writing thank-you notes to professors I really liked after the quarter ended, and about a third of the time, I would get thank-you notes for sending thank-you notes! Many of those professors are people I still keep in touch with, and they tend to be very supportive and encouraging. Check out Danielles tutoring profile. Is It important to Declare a Major Before Starting College

Is It important to Declare a Major Before Starting College As a high school senior applying to colleges, its common to not know what you want to major in quite yet. At the same time, you may have classmates who are already sure of what they want to study and plan on picking a major early in college. Either way works, depending on your situation. Here are several factors to consider when deciding whether to apply undecided or to declare a major. If you have experience with a certain subject, declare a major If you already feel passionate about a certain subject, go ahead and declare it as a major on your application (you can always change your major later if you wish). Keep in mind that if you do so, readers of your application will pay more attention to related courses youve taken in high school and look for evidence of your commitment to the subject. If for example, you declare a journalism major on your application, admissions officers will likely look for good grades in your high school English courses, and perhaps note if you participated in student newspaper. If you dont have good grades to show for, or did not take related classes when you could have, this might reflect poorly on your application, depending on the competitiveness of the program. So, consider both your interest in the subject as well as how well youve done in related classes. If you arent excited about a field of interest, dont declare a major On the flip side, if you dont feel strongly about a specific area of study, dont force it. Its okay to apply undecided; many colleges know that students often come in not knowing what they want to study, or even that students will explore and possibly change majors once in college. If you apply undecided, definitely put your best foot forward: emphasize your academic success where you can, as well as your extracurricular activities and leadership skills and roles. If you have a few different strong interests in multiple fields, its a great idea to speak to those in your application essays. Demonstrate to the admissions officers why its hard for you to narrow your passions down to one single major. If youre applying to a particular school within a college, declare a major Some colleges require you to apply to a specific school or program within the college, like the school of arts and humanities, the business school, or the architecture program, depending on your intended major. If so, it may behoove you to declare a major on your application to show your interest in the field. Some schools go even further and may actually require you to declare the associated major. These types of colleges often work well for students who feel very committed to their intended major, as they will be able to focus their studies greatly on this area of interest and gain a lot of knowledge about it quickly. If you are undecided about a major, apply to the most general school within the college, or look for colleges that do not require you to apply to a specific program from the get-go. [RELATED: How to Design Your Own College Major] Looking ahead, if you end up applying undecided, it doesnt necessarily mean youll have a disorganized path of study when you get to college. What this means is that youll want to intentionally explore different topics your first year to begin narrowing down majorsand what better place to explore various interests than a university? Remember that college career centers, as well as academic advisors and professors, are great resources to ask for advice about selecting a major and learning more about a specific field.

What Kind Of Job Can You Do With A Chemistry Degree

What Kind Of Job Can You Do With A Chemistry Degree What To Do With A Chemistry Degree? ChaptersWhat do you learn in a chemistry course?Protect The Planet And Become An EnvironmentalistSolve Crimes And Save Lives, Become A ToxicologistAt The Crossroads Between Chemistry and Biology: BiotechnologyBecome A Chemical EngineerWhat To Do After A Bachelor Degree In Chemistry?Studying chemistry is a great career choice. Many industries, especially in the manufacturing and energy sectors, are looking for Chemistry graduates and the current climate change crisis has only reinforced the demand for qualified chemist in all fields. The minimum prerequisite to starting a career in the chemistry industry will be a Bachelor of Science degree which takes three years to complete in the UK. Most major universities offer such a qualification. As for most subjects, Oxford and Cambridge have been ranking at the top of the list of Universities degree programs but the department of chemistry of the University of Durham, the Imperial College of London and St. Andrews have been ranking very closel y behind according to The Complete University Guide website. So let's take a look at a few possible professions you can access with a chemistry degree.Start looking for private chemistry tutors that are within your allocated budget and make sure to choose the right chemistry teacher.pharmacology, nanotechnology or  electrochemistry.Depending on your interests and the prospective career you're looking for, you may also apply to follow elective coursework or focus on a more specialised discipline such as molecular biochemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, biomedical engineering or environmental chemistry.Any undergraduate degree will require the completion of an internship which may include a research project lasting for a semester or more.Plastic is one of the main products of the chemical industry and the excess of plastic trash and poor management have caused major pollution problems.Protect The Planet And Become An EnvironmentalistAs an environmental chemist, your main job will be to watch what is in the air, water, and soil to study how chemicals end up in our environment, what effect this contamination may have and how human activities affect the planet. You will have to monitor the source and scope of air, soil or water pollution and contamination especially chemical compounds that may pose a risk for human health. Your role will also include to encourage and improve sustainability, conservation and protection by creating or following environmental friendly initiative. As most chemist job, environmentalists are very hands-on and your role will most likely involve on the ground sample taking  and analytical testings especially in case of a pollution crisis such as an oil spill or aquifer contamination. However, you will also have to study and keep up to date with health and safety regulations and local or national government laws. More importantly,  environmental chemists have to work at the intersections between many different sciences including  biology, geolo gy, ecology, sedimentology, mineralogy, genetics, soil and water chemistry, hydrology, toxicology, mathematics and engineering. Most environmental chemist and technicians work for national or local governments or in private consulting firms. While working in the public sector, ecological chemists  earn an average of £27,000, but this can quickly go over £40,000 when considering the private sector. What if sure is that the global warming crisis has created a massive demand for chemist specialising in environmental matters which will undoubtedly reflect on their salary in the years to come.Check out the best Chemistry tutors near me here.Pollution is one of the main challenges of new chemists. This profession has been glamorised by series such as CSI, Dexter or Bones, making forensics a trendy field to study, thus increasing the competition to get in specific courses or to find a job once you graduated. On the other hand, toxicologists will not be running out of work anytime soon. As a toxicologist , your main job will be to study the safety and biological effects of drugs, chemicals, agents, and other substances on living organisms. Once again, this field is interdisciplinary and will require that you are comfortable with other science such as biology, biochemistry or organic chemistry. It is not as glamorous as criminal forensics, but it helps save lives. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency is the main governmental body that regulates the use of new chemicals in the UK and as a toxicologist, you will have to make sure to be up to date with their latest regulation.Having a cool job is only one of the reason to study chemistry.Once again, the public sector offers less attractive salaries than private industries and the wage of  toxicologists working in analytical toxicology for the NHS start at £28,050. Upon graduation, starting salaries for toxicologists range from around £20,000 to £30,000 depending on the chemical industry you work in but the salary fo r highly qualified toxicologists can rise to £75,000 and beyond. At The Crossroads Between Chemistry and Biology: BiotechnologyIf you are interested in both biology and chemistry you will not have to compromise, just specialise in Biotechnology. This field comprises the study and use of living organisms or cells to make useful products. Even though the term biotech may sound fancy and futuristic humankind has been using biotech processes for thousands of years. Traces of beer making were found to date more than 10,000 years ago. Wine and cheese making were also precursors of today's biotech industry. It is only relatively recently that we realised what was at play behind some of the favourite food and drinks around the world and over time, as alchemy became chemistry, biotechnology emerged as a field of its own.Today the biotech industry allows the design and synthesis of new drugs, improve nutrition, advance agriculture and protect the environment. One of the earliest breakthroughs o f biotechnology was the industrial production of insulin, necessary to treat millions of diabetic people.Right after you graduate, you can expect an average salary  falling between £16,000 and £24,000. After a few years of experience, a qualified biotechnologist  can expect to earn between £25,000 to £50,000 a year. With more than a decade of experience, you will see your salary rise as high as £60,000 a year but this usually come with extra managerial responsibilities.Chemists are at the forefront of innovation and always come with new ideas to solve current problems or create new products.Become A Chemical EngineerThe role of a chemical engineer is to find ways to translate chemical reactions naturally occurring in nature or developed in labs, into practical applications for the productions of chemicals or compounds in large-scale industries.Chemical engineer regularly works in improving these processes, either by making them more cost or energy efficient or by making them le ss damaging to the environment. In recent years, biology and especially biotechnologies have played a growing role in chemical engineering, but the main foundations of the field remain chemistry, maths and physics. Many different sectors work with chemical engineers, from the aerospace and automotive to  environmental and medical companies. With the rising cost of fossil fuels and the global warming that has been observed in the last decades, chemical engineers have had a growing role in improving the sustainability of very polluting industries such as the fashion or automobile manufacturers. Some challenges facing chemical engineers in the coming years include reducing the amount of atmospheric CO2 to temper the effects of human activities and their role in warming up the planet.  It will also involve finding new, non-polluting and renewable fuels.Another major problem that we are facing is the accumulation of decades of non-recycled plastics, polluting our oceans, making its way int o our food and ultimately harming us. Chemical engineers, who have been the source of the plastic boom in following WWII, will have to find new ways to recycle and reuse plastics, transforming those into fabrics, construction materials or creating plastic-eating bacteria are some of the innovations that could save our planet.Chemical engineers come from different backgrounds, usually having a biochemistry degree. With an average salary for a UK chemical engineer of £55,000 rising to £72,000 for a Chartered Chemical Engineer, this profession is amongst the best-paid chemistry job you can land once you've successfully graduated.Start taking private chemistry lessons and get on the path of your future career. What To Do After A Bachelor Degree In Chemistry? If you got your Bachelor degree, it does not necessarily mean that your studies are over. On the contrary, many chemistry graduates decide to pursue further studies and start a master degree often followed by a doctorate science degr ee, it all depends on your career goals.Choosing to increase their knowledge in one of the branches studied during their degree (organic, inorganic, physical or analytical chemistry) often means that they will dedicate their career to research or academia. But chemistry includes many more fields especially in applied chemistry areas such as physical chemistry, computational biochemistry, nanotechnology, forensic examination or biomolecular chemistry. Some employers may also value such specialised qualification and align your remuneration accordingly.Whatever chemistry science courses you pick for your undergraduate majors and postgraduate program of study, once you degree achieved, you will be able to choose whatever career path you wish, from advising multination chemical companies on how to protect the environment to pursuing independent research or heading a university department.

English Listening Exercises 5 Ways to Listen Better

English Listening Exercises 5 Ways to Listen Better I saw the video 5 Ways to Listen Better (posted below) on TED today, and thought that a video about how to be a better listener would make a great English listening exercise. You can learn about listening better, while you learn English.I found this video interesting myself because as a teacher, I think one of the most important things I have to do is listen carefully to my students. When Im not listening carefully, I miss opportunities to have more meaningful interactions with my students, they become bored, and they dont learn as much. When Im really listening to what they say (dont worry, this is almost always, but we all have our bad days) classes are more fun and the students learn more.Below youll find a TED video featuring Julian Treasure talking about why listening is important, why people are not good listeners, and 5 ways you can learn to be a better listener.Click here to contact us and take an English class based on this video. Why you should listen to Julian:Julian Treasu re is the chair of the Sound Agency, a firm that advises worldwide businesses offices, retailers, hotels on how to use sound. He asks us to pay attention to the sounds that surround us. How do they make us feel: productive, stressed, energized, acquisitive?Treasure is the author of the book Sound Business and keeps a blog by the same name that ruminates on aural matters (and offers a nice day-by-day writeup of TEDGlobal 2009). In the early 1980s, Treasure was the drummer for the Fall-influenced band Transmitters. Here is the video below youll find listening questions:We are ______ our _________.How does Julian define listening? So in a _______ _____ like this, if I say ____ ____ ___ ________, some of you just sat up.What is pink noise? What did he promise his wife when they got married? In this scenario _________is listening to ___________.Name two synonyms for quiet that he says. What reasons does he give for people losing their ability to listen? What exercises does he suggest? Why is so important in listening?Every human being needs __ ______ consciously __ _____ to live fully.Do you think listening should be taught in schools?Do you spend any time listening carefully to something? Are you ever required to listen carefully to something?Do you think it is hard to listen sometimes? Has it gotten harder?

Choose the right Musical Instrument for your Child

Choose the right Musical Instrument for your Child There is so much choice in instruments out there that even the most savvy muso mums and dads can find it a hard task choosing the perfect one for their kids. We have found you the perfect pair to help you choose the right musical instrument for your child: introducing high energy music experts, the Musical Adventurists. Get in touch to ask for their guide, which covers everything from bold brass to soaring strings, describes each instrument’s personality and the pros and cons of learning that specific instrument. It is short and sweet, beautiful for your child to look at too, and is sure to give you a strong impression of the next step to take. The process of learning an instrument sets of fireworks off in the brain like no other skill, so get started! Matthew and Lydia, the Musical Adventurists, will come to your house and run a super fun, high energy Music Birthday Party for your child’s big day. Here they are, doing what they do best: “Being a Musical Adventurist has its perks. We’re too silly really, laugh endlessly and get to sing all the time! On top of that we love it because children respond to music so brilliantly... Usually children immediately join in at our parties, creating wacky dances and belt out some showstoppers, but occasionally, there is a child who is unsure. Once, last summer, we welcomed an immaculately well dressed tiny 5 year old boy who found the prospect of singing and dancing completely nightmarish. He hid behind the curtains, he shielded himself from comparatively Amazonian 7 year old girls and he barely made a sound. Lydia and I are always careful to encourage the children to take part and even to lead parts of the party but we won’t push anyone, and since he wasn’t wailing we assumed he was enjoying himself. The parents would obligingly pick him up saying how much he enjoyed it and off they would go. A few events later, we were half way through a particularly impassioned rendition of Frozen’s Let it Go when we asked if anyone wanted to have a stab at singing it as a solo. The room gasped, hands shot to the sky and Lydia and I had the enviable task of picking potential hopefuls. Suddenly I noticed that our tiny 5 year old friend was there again, and this time had his hand up. Well, we obviously had no hesitation in asking him up to the front and away he went, as pretty as a bell and sang his way all through the chorus. Now, the other children there probably had no idea of this little boy’s past shyness but it genuinely was a time when Lydia and I took stock. We love our parties and we always stand by our continuously proven philosophy that music unlocks the soul. Any inhibitions he might have had before were left outside, thank you very much! We were graced with his adorable grin till the end of the party. All I had to worry about was trying to stop Lydia from crying with joy. Well, perhaps both of us.” Lydia and Matthew met quite by chance one year at the International Edinburgh Fringe Festival where they were both on the famous Royal Mile promoting their respective shows. Lydia was performing in a short musical that eventually won Best New Musical at the Fringe called ‘Ed’ and Matthew was performing with his University sketch group, the Durham Review, which went on to win best student comedy! They realised they were both about to enroll at The Royal Academy of Music for their Post Graduate Diploma and the rest is Musical Adventurist history! After training at the Royal Academy, Lydia and Matthew set out into the London musical theatre scene. But they both felt that they had more to give, besides acting, particularly to children. Lydia had done a Music degree at Trinity College in Greenwich and Matthew had achieved a degree in Music at Durham.  After almost a year of work-shopping various ideas, they came up with 'The Musical Adventurists' music parties for children and haven’t turned back since! They are extremely nice, extremely silly, love working with children and have a strong desire to stand out from the crowd. Visit Matthew Lydia’s Musical Adventurist website  to ask their advice on choosing an instrument and to book a party, or search on Tutorfair for your dream Music Teacher.

5 tips for getting a TEFL certification online while you travel

5 tips for getting a TEFL certification online while you travel Need a TEFL certification but you’re itching to take off to a faraway place ASAP? You can travel the world and get certified at the same time with an online TEFL certification course. As Teach Away's TEFL Program Lead, I get a lot of questions from prospective students who want to get certified but don’t want to hold off on their travel plans. Well, great news: you don’t need to delay either! The beauty of online TEFL courses is that they are self-paced, super flexible and can be completed from anywhere in the world. So you can study wherever your heart desires. In fact, there are many advantages that come with studying on the road. For one thing, if you’re not sure where you want to teach English abroad, traveling can help you make that decision. Visiting different countries can give you an idea of what places are really like before you commit to living and working in one location. Or, if you decide that you don’t want to settle down in one place, you can continue your nomad lifestyle by teaching English online. That’s right: once you’re TEFL certified, you’ll have a great way to make money while you travel. Pretty awesome, right? But before we get ahead of ourselves, let’s circle back to doing a TEFL course first. How can you complete a TEFL certification course while traveling? Enroll in an online TEFL course that’s flexible and self-paced. Make sure you have all the tech gear you’ll need to take with you. Choose travel destinations with reliable WiFi access. Budget for a longer trip with a flexible itinerary. Start your journey and study wherever (and whenever) you want! 1. Choose a flexible online TEFL certification that you can do from anywhere. Everyone’s English teaching journey should start with a TEFL course because one thing is for sure: you'll need a TEFL certificate to teach English abroad. If you’re ready to start your globetrotting adventure now, there are two great options for getting TEFL certified while studying abroad. The first one is doing an online TEFL certification course. This is undoubtedly the more flexible and affordable option. You’ll learn all the same content as in a face-to-face TEFL course, plus have the freedom to study from wherever you want, whenever you want. So then you can bounce from country to country or settle in any overseas destination you choose. Worried about balancing your free time with studying? Don’t! Since online TEFL courses are self-paced, you won’t be tied down to a specific schedule or time zone. The second option is doing an in-person TEFL course abroad. But this option can be very pricey, once you’ve factored in course fees, airfare, student visa costs and accommodations. Plus, you’ll be tied to one location for weeks, whether you like it or not. So if you’re looking for a TEFL certification course that can move with your travels, you’ll find that getting certified online is much more flexible than doing a course in person. Of course, choosing the right TEFL course for you will depend on your budget and travel goals. So you should do some research before enrolling in a course. 2. Gear up with everything you’ll need to study online while you travel. If you’re planning to study online while traveling, here are some things you’ll need to take with you: A laptop with WiFi connectivity Sure, mobile devices like tablets and smartphones have come a long way. But you still can’t beat the capabilities of a laptop when it comes to completing an online course. If you don’t have a laptop already, don’t worry about spending too much. Nowadays, there are laptops out there for every budget. Just look for one that’s light and small enough to fit in your carry-on. Laptop charger This may seem obvious, but I’ll remind you just in case: You won’t get very far if you can’t plug your laptop in, so don’t forget to bring your charger! Power adaptors You also won’t get far with a charger that won’t fit in a power outlet, so you’ll need to bring the right travel adaptors with you. Before you leave on your trip, double-check the outlets and voltages in the countries you’ll be traveling to and get the right adaptors for each place. A protective laptop case Since you’re going to be moving from place to place, it’s also a good idea to bring a protective case for your laptop to make sure it survives the journey â€" especially if you’ll be living out of a backpack! Headphones Online TEFL courses often include instructional videos, so you’ll want to pack some headphones for your listening comfort. If you can fit them into your budget, noise-canceling headphones are ideal for minimizing distractions when you’re studying in public places. Luggage locks Traveling with valuables can be stressful. So for your own peace of mind, it’s always good to secure your bags with a luggage lock. And if you’ll be staying in hostel dorms, always ask if there are lockers in shared rooms where you can safely store your tech gear. So, to review, here’s the short list of the things you’ll need to add to your packing list: What do you need to pack to study while you travel? For any online student, a reliable WiFi connection is essential! So keep in mind that even though WiFi is now a given in many countries, it’s still not accessible everywhere. That’s why making sure that you’ll have reliable internet access on your trip will take a bit of planning. A good place to start is making sure any accommodations you book have good WiFi connections. Most hotels nowadays have free WiFi available in your room, where you can study with no distractions. Hostels normally have WiFi in rooms and/or common areas. Cafés and restaurants are another good source of WiFi, but will take a little more research on your part. There’s nothing more annoying than finding a cute cafe to work in, ordering a coffee, and then finding out it doesn’t have WiFi. Getting out and going somewhere local to study also means you don’t have to cut yourself off from traveling while you study. You can get your work done while enjoying the local scenery and delicacies at the same time. Also, keep in mind that you should plan your itinerary carefully if you want to visit remote places without internet access, like national parks, campsites or undeveloped areas. You should plan to visit these places when you know you won’t need to complete online coursework. 4. Extend your travels (and study time) by budgeting for a longer trip. It’s the eternal travel dilemma: do you take advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime trip by packing in as many activities as you can, or do you take a proper break and really, truly, relax? It’s all about finding the right balance between travel and coursework. Studying is going to be an extra pull on your time while you travel. You don’t want to miss out on any experiences because you’ve got to hit the books (or, in this case, the online modules). There are a few simple ways to make sure you are staying on top of your studies and still having fun in your free time! Firstly, budgeting for a longer trip will put you under less time pressure and, hopefully, mean you can fully dedicate yourself to whatever you’re doing: whether that’s mastering a new teaching approach, or simply laying on the beach. You can also save money on longer trips by seeking out budget-friendly destinations, accommodations and transportation. 5. Enjoy traveling the world while getting TEFL certified. Once you’ve planned your trip, enrolled in your online TEFL course and packed everything you’ll need, it’s time to hit the road! But remember to be realistic. Don’t try to fit studying into a packed itinerary, or else you won’t have time to enjoy your travels. Finding the perfect balance between studying online and traveling will take some time. You won’t want to miss any opportunities in the destinations you visit, but learning something new can take time too. Two of the best tips for success for online TEFL courses are, firstly, don’t rush your studies. And, secondly, spread the work out rather than trying to cram everything in at the last minute. Most 120-hour TEFL courses take 4 weeks of full-time study to complete, but the University of Toronto OISE TEFL and International House UC Berkeley TEFL both give students 12 months to complete their online TEFL courses. To get the most out of your schedule, you can dedicate an hour or two a day to coursework and still be able to finish in as little as 6 to 12 weeks. Your travels will not only be filled with new cultures, countries and friends but thanks to your TEFL course, brand new skills too. And who knows, you might like some of the places you visit so much that you end up living (and teaching!) there in the future. Time to take the leap! Whatever stage of trip planning you’re at, you can start your TEFL journey today by enrolling in a TEFL course and working on it at your own pace.
